Mancini : il n’y a qu’un Yaya Touré

Written By yang on 5 janvier 2012 | 19:45

Manchester City new super favourites for EPL title!

Manchester City have taken accolades for the finesse of performances such as the 5-1 win at Tottenham, but title challenges are not built on style alone. Mancini's side also needed to prove, to themselves as much as outsiders, that they could demonstrate persistence when faced with stubborn opponents intent on stifling their skills.

And that occasion arrived on Saturday. If Mancini has released the handbrake on City's attacking instincts, David Moyes was happy to try and park several buses in the way of Sergio Aguero and company.

Everton may have won on their last four visits to City but a point was clearly the prime objective this time as Moyes once again used Tim Cahill as an auxiliary attacker and devised a less than subtle ploy - sometimes legal, sometimes not - to subdue David Silva by detailing Jack Rodwell to shadow his every move.

Manchester United and Manchester City unstoppable?

Written By youtie on 11 septembre 2011 | 02:00

Manchester United and Manchester City continue their unstoppable run of victories, the two teams seem a notch over the other contestants such as Chelsea and Liverpool.

Wayne Rooney hit a hat-trick and Javier Hernandez scored twice as a rampant Manchester United outclassed Bolton to go top of the Premier League.

The champions took an early lead when Hernandez pounced at the near post.

Rooney converted Phil Jones' cross to make it two, then the England striker profited from another of the defender's runs to add a third.

Hernandez swept in a fourth before Rooney drilled in his third - but Tom Cleverley may have broken his foot.

Crumpling under a heavy challenge from Kevin Davies, the midfielder was replaced midway through the first half.

Sergio Aguero scored a hat-trick as Manchester City produced a rampant display against Wigan to lead the Premier League.

City were well on top and had chances before Aguero opened the scoring on 13 minutes by shooting into the corner from David Silva's cutback.

Carlos Tevez had a tame penalty saved and Micah Richards and Vincent Kompany hit the woodwork.

But after the hour mark Aguero tucked in twice to seal victory.

Both the Argentine's second-half goals looked simple in their execution, after he was put clear by Samir Nasri and Silva, but in scoring his fifth and sixth goals of the season, Aguero again underlined his class.

Manchester City still tracking Cerci:

Manchester City boss,Roberto Mancini, remains keen on taking Alessio Cerci to Manchester City, but admits he faces a battle to lure him away from Fiorentina.

The 24-year-old winger is regarded as one of Serie A's hottest properties, with his playmaking abilities making him a useful addition to any side.

City were keen to add him to their ranks last season, but saw Fiorentina pip them to his signature.

Mancini was prepared to make a second approach this year, but was again forced to back off once it became clear that the Viola had no intention of selling.

The Blues boss has refused to rule out a fresh raid in the future, though, with Cerci a player he believes is destined for the very top.

"I have followed him since the 2007/08 season when he was on loan at Pisa from Roma," Mancini told Corriere dello Sport.

"Cerci had just turned 20 but he immediately struck me as an extraordinary talent. He is one of only a few players in the world who can win a game by himself, one that can solve everything.

Samir Nasri signs for Manchester City:

Roberto Mancini has said he hopes to complete the £23m signing of Arsenal's Samir Nasri within days.

Speaking after Manchester City beat Bolton 3-2, Mancini also said the deal may not be his club's last buy before the transfer window closes.

But he has warned the Nasri deal may collapse if the midfielder plays in Arsenal's Champions League match against Udinese on Wednesday.

"I hope that we can have Samir Nasri in the next days," Mancini said.

"But I don't know when. We still have 10 days. I hope he (Nasri) is not the last one in.

"If he plays in the Champions League, it is a big problem. I don't know (if I would still sign him) but hopefully we will close in the next 24 hours."
